About This Quote
If you were not part Lycanthrope that blow would have killed you. Now, stop fighting your pain and embrace it. means, if you were not part Lycanthrope that blow would have killed you. Now, stop fighting your pain and embrace it. Lycanthropy is a condition that causes people to transform into werewolves.
It is the supposed cause of David’s transformation into a werewolf in the movie “The Howling”, which he suffers from during his time in the mental institution. Lycanthropy is an inherited disease where one has to suffer several attacks before they become a full Lycanthrope, which is what happened to David. He was attacked by vampires but he did not die so they could not use his blood for their own gain.
Some doctors believe that if David had been able to get his hands on some of the vampire’s blood he might have been cured of the condition by using it on himself. In this quote from “The Howling” David explains why he transformed, or became a werewolf, when he was attacked by vampires. He says that if he had been a werewolf before he had been bitten, then he would have had a better chance of dying from the attack instead of transforming into a werewolf. As the bite did not kill him it shows that being a werewolf can be fatal to him and anyone who is bitten can be turned into a werewolf by another vampire if they get close enough to get bitten themselves.
In short, being bitten by another vampire can turn them into a werewolf without needing full lycanthropy from one's own bite .
